A Quiet, Beautiful Day Before Thanksgiving
Yep the dogs are still waking up way too early! Tonight I'm going to walk them right before we go to bed and hopefully they will sleep later.
This morning wasn't as warm as Tuesday. It was 37° so I sat inside and did my morning routine. It was nice to have the time and cell phone reception to blog. The picture above was my view from the couch as I worked. It was awesome to watch the sun rise above the lake.
I know what you're thinking - yes we waited until noon again today before doing anything but today we just drove to the nearest town (Newberry) to get groceries. We decided we needed a break from constant sightseeing. That gave us time to enjoy our breakfast (egg in a frame) and gave me time to finish Tuesday's blog.
We also got to meet our new camping neighbors who had come in last night. They were the nicest family! They live in Greenville, SC. The wife is a high school biology teacher so they have a long weekend and love to camp. It is so nice to have friendly neighbors to talk to. Clinton and I miss talking to other people!
We made it back to our campsite after eating lunch (Wendy's), washing the truck, and getting groceries. It's always fun to go grocery shopping the day before a major holiday - not!
After a wonderful nap, all four of us took a walk (me, Clinton and our two dogs). We walked around the entire circle of our campground. It is truly beautiful!
We were amazed at how many people camp here for Thanksgiving! It really helps us not feel so alone.
By this time, the sun had set and it was dark. A beautiful full moon rose in the sky and reflected off the water.
We had an excellent dinner - we grilled pork tenderloin on our Traeger tailgater. The sweet family beside us brought over almost a half of an apple pie! The picture I took on Instagram was after we had dug into it!
We didn't drive much today but we did spend a little more on groceries due to Thanksgiving goodies:
We enjoyed our quiet, beautiful day so much! God has blessed us so much - we are so thankful. We look forward to spending one more day at this beautiful campground - watching the Macy's parade and eating turkey with jellied cranberry sauce!
Stay happy Campers!
Michele and Clinton
