One Month on the Road!
Saturday, November 10, 2018
It's hard to believe one month ago, we pulled out of our driveway in Missouri and headed out for this crazy camping adventure! It's getting better and better!
I started the day with my morning routine - walk the dogs, drink coffee, read Bible. It was cool - low 50's but it felt good outside so I sat on the picnic table and worked on yesterday's blog. Click on the link below to see a cute little video from our Instagram stories of Truman this morning:
I worked on our blog for a couple of hours and we ate fried egg on whole grain toast, and fruit salad for breakfast.
Myrtle Beach is an RV haven - there are so many RV campgrounds! That also means there are quite a few RV dealerships. And there's one thing we love do - check out new RV's. We stopped at several dealerships, enjoying the sunny day. We ended up at Campers Inn RV and met the nicest salesman, Nate! We had a great time looking at RV's.
Nate gave us great advice on where to eat - Wicked Tuna at Murrell's Inlet - about a 10 minute drive south. It turned out to be a great recommendation! Murrell's Inlet is definitely where all the locals go. It was packed! It's just a small community with one main road, along the inlet. There are several restaurants that look really awesome.
Wicked Tuna is a part seafood restaurant and part sushi restaurant which really goes together. We hadn't had sushi since we started this adventure and that sounded really good so we got the Wicked Tuna Roll - tempura shrimp, lobster salad, cucumber,7 spice seared ahi tuna, ponzu sauce, sweet chili, wasabi mousse.
We also got the Bang Bang Grouper (they catch the grouper fresh everyday!) - tempura battered grouper tossed in spicy mayo, Szechuan sauce, and sesame seeds.
The grouper was seriously excellent! Here's a short video outside the restaurant and on the deck overlooking the marsh.
After lunch and one more stop at the RV dealership, we picked up groceries at Food Lion and headed back to the RV. It had been sunny and in the lower 60's all day so we took the dogs for a walk on the beach as the sun was setting.
The dogs love walking on the beach! They don't like the water - I think it scares them - but they love the soft sand.
I am so fascinated by jellyfish! They are so unusual and beautiful!
Pictures are great but the sound of the ocean is even better! Watch this short video of our walk:
We never did eat a real dinner, just snacked on blue corn tortilla chips and salsa. We finished the evening watching the Adam Sandler movie - Pixels - it was cute and I loved the 80's music lol!
Here's a breakdown of the costs of our day - mostly food!
Sunday we are looking forward to going to church and spending one more day at the beach!
Stay happy Campers!
